Growing up with Michael Jackson's Music
I cannot fathom the fact that Michael Jackson is gone. Myself like so many people around the world were in awe of the talent that he possessed from the day that he along with his brothers, The Jackson Five took the stage. Michael Jackson's accomplishments in music, dance, songwriting, actor and other noble fetes speak for themselves. It is a struggle right now to write this Hub because my mind is a mass of sadness and sorrow for a life taken too soon.
I know we cannot live forever, but this is not right, not fair. He was about to start out on a fifty concert tour on July 13, 2009 in Europe. I grew up listening, dancing and partying to Michael Jackson both as a part of the Jackson Five, and as a solo artist. I consider him at the top, if not the top artist of all time. His influence of artists of some many genre's around the world is a testament to that.
Michael Jackson was a very sweet and sensitive man and I hope he will be remembered for all the contributions he made to the music world. Moreover he was a philanthropist and raised money for many charities around the world. Michael loved life and family, contrary to what was reported in the press many times. He was, even though having to grow up under a spotlight, a professional who put his heart and soul in all of his work and that in which he collaborated on with others. He was the best!
Michael Jackson...Rest In peace. He was and will always be remembered as one of the most iconic and influential artist of all times. He will be missed. It's a sad day. June 25, 2009

I love his MOON WALK. He has made a mark in History.
Very sad and shocking!! He will be missed, but his music will live on.
This is one of those times when I am proud to be part of the NYC crowd. The Apollo (and there is only one Apollo) Uptown in Harlem put his name up on the marquee earlier today (Thursday) with his date of birth and death - and NYers took to 125th Street by the thousands and...they moonwalked...and danced...and sang his songs - what a tribute!
Thanks for your tribute too!
May Michael Jackson's spirit shine on. I also loved his music and found him to be a very loving man even when the media was knocking him down.
BKCreative: Wow....I am touched to hear that my beloved NY paid him this tribute!
He was an artest,a builder,aprotecter..his music will transend time and space. he is with us in all his glory. god bless and keep you michael
Its an Sad day. We miss you Michael. The Moon Walk was his unique one.
tragic loss to the world,
Thanks for mentioning all of the albums and songs that you included in your Hub. I thought Thriller was innovative and enjoyed the fact that the title song was used as a winning number one season on Dancing with the Stars.
Thanks Laringo for this outlet. I think the arts are humanity's way of reaching into and exposing our souls to allow our passions freedom. The bigger the artist, the deeper we are reached into. Michael's death so soon, like Diana's in '97, shocks humanity, shakes us to our cores where we join together at such vulnerable levels to share and lean on one another. It is an amazing thing and I'm absolutely sure the being, the spirit that was Michael is watching and is in JOY to see humans from all walks of life, all places around the globe, all colors and beliefs joining together to remember his gifts, his own vulnerabilities and trials and of course his incredible passion for singing to the world. I'm with you Laringo in sadness. I feel if he passed away at age 88 the effect could not be as stimulating on a global level as we are all witnessing today. There's a grander plan behind this quick departure than meets the eye...
I am too shocked, there was noone like Michael. I loved to watch him dance, he was the best dancer of all time! I share this great video collection of his moonwalk (s).

RIP MICHAEL
Beautiful Hub. It has not hit me yet that he is really gone. Reminder of how I need to live each day to my fullest. Be kind, memember that love never fails, help others, give to the poor, give a hug, give a smile. Be a server and not a taker. Michael helped many causes. I beleve he is in Heaven with Our Lord, no tears, no suffering, no struggles or pain. He is lucky but will be missed by billions. Talk about imaking an impact on this world. I am grateful I never judged him as he had some things going on. ( We all do) I am not perfect but am grateful I loved him for him. I grieve for his loved ones and beloved fans. He was an amazxing artist. He will rock on.
Thank you for visiting my hubs and joining I hope you are blessed with the tips.
Thanks for pointing out his humanitarian efforts. I've written a tribute hub to Michael Jackson as well. A great talent Gone Too Soon.
I cry and then I make myself stop. I cry and then I make myself stop. and then I cry again.
I`ve had a love hate relationship with Michael since I was 10. Of course going through the "Michael Jackson Jacket" phase. He was one of a kind , I can say that. I have some really cool RARE pictures of Michael Jackson in concert on my page. Check it out
Laringo, I know it's tough. It's tough to mourn, too, when his music gets you so amped! I just wrote a hub about it after going through the ups and downs of trying to grieve, but being too happy whenever his music's playing. I never got to see in concert either. He was one of my three I wanted to see. Saw Prince, and saw George Michael. Michael Jackson, robbed me! LOL
Hi Laringo. I'm sorry he's gone as well. As a kid he was always my favorite performer. It always seemed he was so unhappy. May he rest in peace.
Michael Jackson will always be remembered for his creative works and outstanding performances. His contributions to the music industry were like no others, truly phenomonal!. There has been only one, and will only be one Michael Jackson, true King of Pop!

The only thing about Micheal was the (in my opinion) gross distortions that he had surgically done to his handsome African features. If my son were to want to transform himself away from his God given African features or my daughter were to say that she had to get rid of this nose or this chin or lip or whatever I would have to seriously tie them down and have a talk with them. My children are such beautiful people and I want them to see what God created was beautiful. In fact I'm a bit jealous of them and really wish I was blood so I could have some of those genes in me. But alas I am but a white guy and an average one at that. I know, I know, my wife thinks I got it and all that but confidentially just between you and me - I think she needs glasses. Hey don't tell her I said that or she'll smack me in my bald head!

Thanks laringo for dropping by my hub about MJ. And when I came here, I discovered you had written one about him too. I do pray that he has found his peace.
I will always love Michael! ONE OF A KIND!!! I have sooooo much stuff I have bought, I now own 10 Michael Jackson purses, 10 t-shirts, 3 wallets, all his music, etc... lol I am a FAN!!!
Well written, really great hub! Rest in peace Michael, we miss you.. your legacy will live on in your musical greatness.
I also feel sad by the death of a great entertainer. There are so many questions to be asked about his death but it was his time.
Very heart felt tribute to Michael Jackson. I am sad he died so young, but people will remember him for his music for sure. Even very young kids are singing his songs, and I have heard more of his songs on the radio recently than I had in years.
It was almost like a family member had died. I use to love to buy all those tabloid magazines. I haven't bought one since he died. I dont even look at the ones that have his picture on the cover. I just don't want to read any lies about him anymore. The television has told and shown me everything I needed to know.
it's sad that the media make a circus' of professionals' lives causing too many of them to have to live unnatural lives. michael was a professional and a great musician.
I just got out of This is It! and boy was it AMAZING! It, unfortunatly, will be the closest thing I will ever get to a Michael Jackson concert, but it is worth it.
I remember going into work that evening and telling my co-workers that Farrah Fawcett had died; I figuared that would be the only big news story that would have happened for the day; boy was I wrong! My GM came round the corner where I was washing some of the dishes and she said that Michael Jackson had died; I don't know why, but I thought that she had been kidding and just making fun of me, since I came in earlier, saying that Farrah had died. However, I asked another co-worker and she said the same thing, that it had been on CNN. The rest of the night, I kept saying aloud that it isn't true, it isn't true, how could it happen? When I got home, there it was, on the news, MTV, E!, etc. I about fell over.
At this point, I can accept that he isn't here, too a degree, but when you've grown up with Michael Jackson, his persona, his everything, it's hard to believe that he is gone. Just like The Beatles, he'll be around for a LONG time.
Loss of Michael Jackson is not a loss to any individuals but a loss to the whole world. He was the king of musical world and he will remain so in the years to come.
Seems like the last of a breed....Sorry...no comparison from little timberlake...he's not even in the league...no matter how many records he will ever sell...Wow! You really put a lot of thought and positive thought into your hub article! Honestly I think I need to re-read it again to pick-up all the gems that you shared, as always...THANKS! Keep writing...you know I'm a fan!
I will love Michael Jackson forever!!!! I have soooooo many things to remind me of him, it's unreal! From purses, t-shirts, cell phone holders, rings, watches, posters, etc.... I listen to him everyday, his music lefts me up! GREAT HUB!!! Blessings! Come visit when you get some time.
I agree 100% Wonderful article. I also just cannot fathom that the King of Music is gone. But his spirit will shine forever!
Laringo thanks for this hub I totally agree with you on this it was a sad day indeed. I have an idea for a hub on MJ and it is still in the works. Nice work.
Michael Jackson's music touched me deeply. When he died, I held it together for two days and then I lost it. I am a man and men don't cry. But I just had to let it out. I am finally able to listen to his music again without loosing it. MJ rest in peace.
He is my Idol since I was 12 and that 23 years ago. And I still enjoy all his songs.
Thanks for sharing.
what a great entertainer i have always loved him his voice was great.
Thanks for the wonderful tribute to Michael Jackon. There will never be another like him.
Today I went to Saturn, one of the mega electronics stores in Germany. I wanted to buy a Christmas gift for my children. I was forced to walk past the TV department. On a giant wall, in inconspicuous shelves, dozens of monitors above the other and side by side, all showed the same picture: Michael Jackson preparing one of his shows. This impression is hard to describe. Fantastic. Wonderful music. Sensational dance style. Breathtaking. I love his music.
Yes, it's pretty sad that he had to go already. But his music is still here.
Anyway, good hub. voted up :)
When my daughter told me he had died, the world actually spun for me. I agree with you 100 percent. Awesome hub.
MJ was the best. The most dynamic original awesome performer of our era.
Grew up listening to Michael Jackson in the Jackson 5. Loved Thriller and loved to watch him dance. He was very talented.
A true legend. It is such a pity his good qualities were only highlighted when he passed on. he left the world such beautiful artistic treasures from music to movies
MJ was and still is the best. I use to copy all is dance moves when i was growing up.
