How to Make Poinsettia Christmas Napkin Rings

Spending lots of money on fancy table decorations for the holiday is really not necessary when you can make your own inexpensive ones right at home. Your guests will be impressed and your table will be so festive with beautiful poinsettia napkin rings. They are very simple to make and if stored properly, can be used over and over again. These napkin rings can even be given as gifts for family,friends or that secret pal. All it takes to make is three pieces of felt for each ring.

Hint: Make this project early in the year and have gifts to give for the person who has everything, or for unexpected guests during the holidays. I made these last year and the two people I gave these napkins rings to were very pleased.

How to make Napkin Rings

Measure and cut out templates on poster board for the shapes pictures to the right. A green four-pointed leaf, which should be about 5 to 6 inches across. the next shape is the red, four rounded flower petals. These should be 3/12 to 4 inches across. The last shape is the dog bone(red). Make the size about 10 inches long and 5 inches high.

Begin by cutting out the shapes and inserting a 1 inch slit in the center of both the petals and leaf.

Next lay the red petals over the green leaf. and fold the dog bone shape in half. Pull the ends of the dog bone shape up through the slits and open the felt into a flower. Done. A beautiful poinsettia napkin ring is ready to add to your beautiful holiday table.
